MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) Milwaukee Brewers’ outfielder Ryan Braun finished second in the voting for the National League’s M-V-P award. San Francisco catcher Buster Posey won the honor last evening, as many pundits had expected. Posey received 27-of-32 first-place votes from the Baseball Writers Association – and he had 422 total points to 285 for Braun.
Pittsburgh outfielder Andrew McCutcheon was third, followed by Saint Louis catcher Yadier Molina. Braun said Posey deserved to win – and he said Posey made incredible accomplishments while helping the Giants win the World Series.
Braun led the National League with 41 homers and 108 runs scored, but he said he did not have a great season – and he didn’t feel like he deserved an award that he didn’t get.
Detroit Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera was named the American League’s M-V-P.
