Kelly Clarkson has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving -- hit singles, album sales in the multi-millions, awards, adoring fans.  But when it comes right down to it, she's just thankful that she's not alone anymore.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, Kelly was asked by Ellen what she's grateful for this holiday season.  She replied, "This is gonna sound like I'm making a joke but it is so not.  It is serious.  I am not alone for the first time for Thanksgiving and Christmas and I'm very happy."  As the audience cheered, Kelly added, "Seriously, I've been, like, praying for so long and he's so great."

"He" is Kelly's boyfriend, Brandon Blackstock , who she's been dating for nine months.  When Ellen congratulated her on her engagement, Kelly laughed and said, "Everyone thinks we are.  We're not...[but] we're totally gonna get married.  We love each other.  We're totally gonna get married one day."

Why wait, if the two are so in love?  Kelly says it's a bit complicated.  "He has, like, two children and I'm new," she told Ellen, indicating that she wants her future stepkids to get comfortable with the idea of her being with their dad first.  But that doesn't mean she isn't waiting for the big day when Brandon pops the question.

"I mean he's gotta put a ring on it at some point," said Kelly.  "But I'll wait it out!"
