MAUSTON, WI (WSAU) - An Adams man accused of driving a boat while intoxicated and causing a death will be in Juneau County court Tuesday. 22-year-old Christopher R. Collins has a pretrial conference at 9:00 a.m.
Collins allegedly drove a boat on Castle Rock Lake July 21st that struck a bridge pillar, throwing the other passengers forward. One of them was 23-year-old Michael Miklavicic of Friendship, who died from his injuries.
Collins had a point-13 blood alcohol content in a field sobriety test after the incident. Collins faces 25 years in prison if convicted.
A plea hearing is scheduled for December 13 at 12:45 pm.
