WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  The man suspected of threatening a Wausau West student has pled not guilty. Marcos Garza is accused of sending multiple threatening text messages to a 17-year-old Wausau West student whom he had been intimately involved with over the past couple of years. The series of threats prompted Wausau School officials to lock down West High School October 5th.

Garza was in court Tuesday where he entered the not guilty plea. He remains in the Marathon County Jail unable to post a $25,000 bond.

Garza was arrested on Jefferson Street in downtown Wausau carrying a loaded handgun in his backpack. Along with the threatening text messages, he is also accused of taking indecent videos of the victim and using them to control her actions. Garza could spend least five years in prison if convicted.
