STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) Stevens Point leaders say a building that was offered as classroom space to the Medical College of Wisconsin might now be used as a new city hall. The city proposed that the medical college move into the old Mid-State Technical College building on Michigan Avenue. The college decided to set up its new campus in Wausau instead.
MSTC is vacating the building for a downtown location on the site of the CenterPoint Marketplace Mall.
Mayor Andrew Halverson says the city could use the old building as a new city hall and additional city office space. The building has also been discussed as a new teen center for the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County. It would give them more space, and would be located near PJ Jacobs Middle School.
