Other than eating yourself into a food coma, America's biggest Thanksgiving tradition is the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year, one of the featured performers in the parade celebrates Thanksgiving, but on a completely different day.
Carly Rae Jepsen is from Canada, so her Thanksgiving takes place the second Monday in October. Still, the celebrations in both countries are pretty much the same.
"Generally, it's all about a really good meal," she tells ABC News Radio. "My family is all about, you know, coming together and having that big dinner." Since she'll be in New York City on Thursday for the parade, Carly will get to take part in an American Thanksgiving meal. "I think I'm gonna be, actually, joining some friends in New York and getting to kinda share their pumpkin pie. So, that'll be fun," she says.
As for the parade, Carly Rae says she's familiar with it because they show it on TV in Canada as well. "Oh yeah, totally. I mean, that's a pretty iconic parade. It's amazing that I get to be a part of it," she tells ABC News Radio. "I hear that it's very cold. So I've been on the hunt for a nice, very stylish but warm jacket. So, if you can point me in any good directions, I'm all ears!"
Carly says she'll be performing her current hit, "This Kiss," in the parade, which steps off at 9 a.m. on NBC in all time zones.
