Former House star Hugh Laurie is in talks to lead the cast of new U.S. TV pirate drama Crossbones. The British actor is close to signing on to play Blackbeard in the NBC project, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The drama will be based on Colin Woodard's book The Republic of Pirates.
