RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) -  An area ski hill is offering an early taste of a favorite winter activity. Granite Peak Ski Area is opening one of their runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday only. That’s a week before their scheduled season opener Saturday December 1st. Granite Peak is making snow now that the record warm temperatures from earlier in the week have gone away.

Skiers and snowboarders will notice something new this year. The eighth new lift in nine years is named Dasher. It’s a high speed quad lift that replaces Donner on the western runs.
