TOMAHAWK, WI (WSAU) - Two north central Wisconsin gun shops have been broken into within three days. This time, Statton's General Store and Gun Shop north of Tomahawk was victimized. Owner Richard Statton discovered the break in and theft of about 30 guns yesterday morning. The front window was smashed to obtain access to the store.
Statton believes the break-in happened just after 4 am. He saw three people on his security cameras smash the window, pull down a security gate, and take around 30 hand guns. Statton is hoping the surveillance video can help catch the thieves.
The Lincoln county Sheriff's Department is handling this investigation.
The other gun store break in happened Sunday morning on Wausau’s north side. Condition One on North 14th Avenue reported a window was smashed and several guns and accessories were taken.
