SHAWANO, WI (WSAU) - The Shawano man accused of killing a brother and sister in Oconto county was bound over for trial yesterday. 29-year-old Daniel Lee Schmidt is charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide in the deaths of Kimberly Rose and Leonard Marsh in May of 2009. Judge Michael T. Judge has set an Arraignment hearing for October 26th.
The criminal complaint says Schmidt had an affair with Rose, and his wife Stephanie found out. Schmidt allegedly said to his wife that if Rose was out of the picture, “then they wouldn’t have to deal with her and they could mend their relationship.”
Schmidt is accused of using a 20-gauge shotgun to shoot Kimberly Rose once and her brother Leonard Marsh three times. Assistant Attorney General David Wambach is prosecuting the case.
