UNDATED (WSAU) A prize-winning cow that was being shown at World Dairy Expo in Madison was killed in a car crash after the show.A 26-year-old woman has been cited for inattentive driving.

A police report says she swerved into a cattle trailer in the next lane while reading a text message. The trailer was pushed off the road and overturned.

The trailer was carrying eight champion Jersey cows, valued around $500,000. One of them was killed in the crash.

The owner of the cows has not been publicly announced.
