Son of missing woman competent to stand trial

STEVENS POINT, WI  (WSAU)  -  One of the three suspects accused of cashing an Amherst woman's Social Security checks over the past thirty years has been found competent to stand trial.  Charles T. Jost declared to the court that he is competent, and a doctor evaluating his mental condition agrees.  Prosecutor Veronica Isherwood does not dispute the doctor's findings, so Jost will next have a preliminary hearing to the charges Thursday, October 25th.

His mother, Marie Jost and brother Theodore Jost have been missing since the early 1980's  There whereabouts is still unknown.

The other suspects in this case, Ronald and Delores Disher are scheduled for a 1:00 preliminary hearing yet today to enter their pleas.

WSAU will update the story after that court appearance.
