Mid-State groundbreaking ceremony Thursday in Stevens Point

This portion of the former Centerpoint Marketplace used to be JC Penney's.  It will be the new Stevens Point home of Mid-State Technical College.

STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) -  Mid-State Technical College celebrates the start of construction on their new Stevens Point Campus Thursday morning. 

A short groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on the southeast corner of the new MSTC location on Centerpoint Drive. That’s where the new extension of 3rd Street passes by the opening in the old mall that used to be the JC Penney wing. Most of the event is scheduled to be outdoors, and will be emceed by Stevens Point Campus Dean Steve Smith. Several MSTC and City of Stevens Point dignitaries are expected to speak during the ceremony.
