ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAU) - Get ready to get down and funky for a good cause in Rothschild with WIFC's Disco Cures Cancer.
It's the fifteenth annual event, and it's back at the Rothschild Pavilion tonight. WIFC morning host Dave Kallaway says coming back to the Pavilion is good karma. "It's got a home made disco ball, right up there on the ceiling, and you come here and it feels like home."
Kallaway says people should be ready for a good time, and that they're expecting to see more young people at the event this year. It's turning into a generational thing now. People were too young when it first started and they kept hearing about it and wanting to go and now they can." Costumes are encouraged, but Kallaway reminds people that Tie Dye was from the 60's and Big Shoulders were from the 80s. "You have to get the right era of costume ready."
Tickets are 25 dollars a piece, and all proceeds raised at the event go towards Aspirus Cancer Care. You can pick up tickets at the Midwest Communications studios in Wausau and Plover. It all starts Friday, October 19 at 7 pm.
