UNDATED (WSAU) - Thursday’s bad weather left considerable damage in our area. Downed trees and power lines were only part of the problem. Straight-line wind gusts between 70 and 80 miles-per-hour were reported in western Marathon County, and seven barns were destroyed near Colby.
Wind, hail, and heavy rain also caused power outages and property damage. There were also localized flood problems in Vilas County after 2-and-one-half inches of rain fell at Rest Lake, and a home damaged by lightning the the Langlade County town of Elcho.
The State Emergency Operations Center reports there have been no requests for state assistance due to this storm system.
