WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) - The Western Wisconsin Region of the American Red Cross has activated 4 of its Emergency Response Vehicles. They have been deployed to Baltimore, MD where they will support the preparedness efforts for Hurricane Sandy.
Volunteers will provide snacks, food, and water using the Wisconsin response vehicles within the impacted areas. Laurel Cooper of Merrill is traveling east with the Stevens Point based response vehicle. Cooper recently served as a shelter worker for Tropical Storm Isaac. Denise Davenport from Cambridge is joining Cooper on this assignment. She had a similar assignment recently during Tropical Storm Isaac. The Emergency Response Vehicles based in Madison, Janesville, and Altoona have also been deployed to the east coast for Hurricane Sandy service.
