GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) Packers’ receiver Greg Jennings was supposed to have surgery today in Philadelphia – but it’s been delayed after Super-storm Sandy hit the East Coast . The operation is supposed to fix a torn abdominal muscle that resulted in groin injuries on September 9th and 30th. Coach Mike McCarthy says a new date for the surgery has not been set.
There was no immediate word on the status of defensive ends Mike Neal and Jerel Worthy – both of whom were injured in Sunday’s win over Jacksonville. Worthy had a concussion, and Neal injured an ankle. McCarthy says the team will be updated on both injuries tomorrow, when practice resumes.
Also, the coach is not sure whether receiver Jordy Nelson will return for the Packers’ next game against Arizona at home on Sunday. Nelson suffered a hamstring injury at practice last week, and McCarthy said he was close to being cleared for the Jaguars’ game. McCarthy was also not sure about the status of injured players John Kuhn, Sam Shields, and Nick Perry. He says the big test for them will be at tomorrow’s practice.
