KRONENWETTER, Wisc (WSAU) A misconduct allegation against Kronenwetter's police chief was dismissed yesterday.
Village board member Justeen Mallo claims that chief Dan Joling intimidated her and got into her personal space after a board meeting last August. Joling says it was the other way around, and that Mallo confronted him. Both sides called witnesses in municipal court yesterday. The police and fire commission took no action and dropped the case. But the person filing the complaint is entitled to a hearing if they request one.
The allegation was investigated earlier this month by the Marathon County sheriffs department. They determined the chief didn't violate any rules. That report was forwarded to the Kronenwetter Police and Fire Commission, which didn't take any disciplinary action.
Chief Joling said the dispute was because Mallo tired to get involved in a police investigation that involved a family member.
