OWEN, Wis (WSAU) The police chief in Owen has been on leave for two weeks, and there's been no explanation as to why. WSAW-TV says the issue was brought to their attention by a viewer. They asked town leaders about the matter, and no one would discuss the case. Mayor Steven Haggemeier hasn't commented.

An employee at city hall confirmed that chief Randall Poirier is on-leave. It's unclear why or for how long.

Owen has a three-person police department, a chief, a sergeant, and a patrol officer.
