MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) - Marshfield’s Job Service Center is officially open for business at their new location. They’re open, despite plans to close it last year due to funding cuts.
The Job Center’s new location shares space with The United Way, whose executive director Paula Jero says, “It was a complete partnership, without all of the pieces falling into place, this would never have been.”
City of Marshfield officials worked with the United Way, the State of Wisconsin, and the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board to keep the office open after Wood County could no longer fund the center.
Because of those funding issues, the hours of operation have been cut back from four to three days per week. The center will be open Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and will be open on those days from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. following the move.
The Job Center’s new location is 156 South Central Avenue.
