Complications at Canada's border may have delayed Rihanna 's show in Winnipeg last week, but what's her excuse for showing up late for Saturday night's Diamonds world tour stop in Calgary?
Some of the 13,500 people at Scotiabank Saddledome sat around for more than an hour and a half, awaiting Rih's arrival, according to the Toronto Sun . The concert was scheduled to start at 9 p.m., but Rihanna didn't hit the stage until closer to 11 p.m. and some folks didn't think the singer's performance, which the Sun called "lackluster," was worth sticking around for.
Concertgoer Sal Rena tells the Toronto Sun that some people gave up and left the venue before Rihanna's show got underway. Rena, who went to the show with her husband and 16-year-old niece, tells the Toronto Sun that people seated near her walked out of the venue halfway through Rihanna's performance. "I saw a lot of people ask for their money back," Rena says.
"I would never spend money to go see her again," Rena adds, explaining that Rihanna appeared to be lip-synching parts of her set. Rena's niece, on the other hand, thought the performance was "exceptionally awesome, but she didn’t have to pay the money for the ticket."
