UNDATED (WSAU) - The Wausau and Merrill school boards will be seeing new members in the next term as new faces have won elections.
In Wausau, challenger Matthew Young won election in a three win race with four candidates. The other top vote getter was incumbent Jane Rusch. The third spot, however, is still too close to call. With all of the precincts reporting, but absentee ballots not counted as of Tuesday night, Theresa Miles leads Dale Lawson by a count of 3,931 to 3,920, a difference of 11 votes. Lawson, who did not want to speak on the air, told WSAU last night that he's waiting for results but will not call for a recount if he loses.
In the Merrill school district, both incumbents running in the three winner race are out. Chuck Bolder and Lin Kautza are both out after former school board president Jeff Verdoorn and new challengers Norbert "Nubs" Ashbeck and John Schull win the top three spots. The other challenger in the race was Linda Yingling.
