MOUNT PLEASANT, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities in Racine County are trying to determine how high levels of carbon monoxide got into a condominium complex in Mount Pleasant.
59-year-old Geri Wells of Mount Pleasant was found dead just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday in a car parked in a garage at the facility.
Rescuers said a large amount of carbon monoxide was emitting from the garage into the rest of the complex – but they said Wells’ car was not running when they found her.
The entire condo facility was evacuated. No one else got sick.
The cause of Wells’ death was not immediately determined. Mount Pleasant Police and the Racine County medical examiner’s office continue to investigate.
