Walker disagrees with Evers post election voucher comment

MADISON, WI (WSAU) -  Governor Scott Walker does not agree with a post-election comment made by State Superintendent Tony Evers.

Evers said after his resounding win over Don Pridemore that the victory means voters disapprove of private voucher school expansion, and that voters were rejecting Walker’s education proposals.

Walker believes parents need to have the option to use vouchers so their children are not forced to attend failing schools. There are nine school districts in the state that would be affected if the voucher expansion is approved. It’s part of the proposed state budget, which is in the hands of the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee now.
