UNDATED (WSAU) - Tax Day has come and gone, and if you didn't get your taxes in on time, the IRS still wants you to file right away.
IRS spokesman Chris Miller says you should file your taxes as quickly as possible. "Fill out your return, of course, if you owe taxes you should pay as much as possible in order to avoid further interest or penalties." Miller says the IRS will keep the free file and e-filing options open on their website through October when extensions are due.
If you are paper filing your taxes, Miller says you shouldn't rush it. "When people are rushing, they make a lot of mistakes. Math errors, transposing numbers." One major error people have is not actually signing the end of their tax form.
