MEQUON, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) In the Northwoods League, the Madison Mallards tied their best-of-three South Division playoff series last night with a 14-to-8 home victory over the Lakeshore Chinooks. The Mallards scored eight runs in the seventh-and-eighth innings to force a deciding Game-Three tonight in Mequon.
Meanwhile, the Duluth Huskies closed out the North Division Finals with a 2-to-1 win at Waterloo. Michael Suiter drove in the game-winner with a single in the sixth inning. Duluth now moves on to the Northwoods’ Summer Collegiate World Series, which starts tomorrow night after the Lakeshore-Madison series is completed.
