MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - After more than a month of peaceful arrests, a protester was pinned to the ground and carried out of the State Capitol Monday during the noon-time sing-along in the Rotunda.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said the man and his brother had occasionally shouted at officers during previous arrests for Capitol demonstrations. The paper said it was not clear what prompted Monday’s altercation, after a reporter looked at video made by other protestors.
The administration did not immediately comment.
Over 200 arrests have been made since mid-July, as the result of the Solidarity Singers not getting state permits for Capitol gatherings that were largely upheld by a federal judge in early July.
