STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - Charges have now been filed against the girlfriend of the man who robbed a Stevens Point convenience store. 19-year-old Kianna Nelson is accused of robbery with the threat of force and resisting an officer. Investigators say she was more than just a shopper in the Blue Top Shell Station July 28th, she was the lookout assisting 27-year-old Vincent Belthem.
Police say Nelson intentionally gave a false description of the robber, knowing exactly who it was all along. Officers found stolen merchandise in Nelson’s car when searched. They also found Belthem’s clothing stashed in a nearby city park.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Nelson. Belthem remains in the Portage County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond. He is also a former employee of the convenience store, so investigators say he knew what to do once inside the store.
