McMillian's Release Sends Players A Message

GREEN BAY, WI (LEARFIELD-WSAU) Green Bay Packers' corner Davon House said the front office sent a powerful message when it cut safety Jerron McMillian on Tuesday.  House said he never saw it coming and it's quote, "a reality check that, yeah, you could get cut, too."

Other players said they were shocked and surprised that McMillian was cut, even though he was struggling and the Packers said they needed the roster space to sign running back Kahlil Bell.

McMillian was a fourth-round draft choice from a year ago.  In-season cuts are not general manager Ted Thompson's normal way of doing business.  But these are not normal times for the Packers, who are winless in five games since quarterback Aaron Rodgers broke his left collarbone November fourth.

Defensive lineman C-J Wilson said Rodgers' injury quote, "exposed everybody else."  We still don't know if Rodgers will return Sunday against Atlanta at Lambeau Field. The quarterback said yesterday that he has met most of the requirements for returning, but team doctors are still not convinced he could take a big hit without risking a worse injury.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Rodgers would not have another scan this week.
