RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) --
Rhinelander School District officials are hoping Monday is a normal day of school, after illness affected a large number of students late last week.
Nearly one-fourth of the students at Pelican Elementary School were sick Thursday, and a large number of students were also sick at Crescent Elementary School. The district closed Pelican School Friday and gave parents the option of keeping their children out of Crescent School as well.
Both schools are set to reopen Monday. District officials hope the long weekend gave the students time to get well without spreading the cause of the sickness to other students and staff.
