WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) - A bullying and harassment accusation has led to a lawsuit against the Wisconsin Rapids School District. Several school officials and coaches are named in the suit filed Friday.
The teenaged boy’s attorney claims her client was a target of bullying and sexual and verbal abuse and harassment by other students on the Lincoln High School wrestling team during the 2010-2011 school year.
The lawsuit claims the team members intentionally took advantage of the victim’s disabilities including deafness, limited vision, and developmental delays. The attorney claims the school district has a policy prohibiting bullying and discrimination and school staff members knew or should have known what was happening to the teen.
