ASHLAND, WI (WTAQ0 - A Minnesota woman is due in court in Ashland Monday afternoon in her second of two murder cases.
Angelina O’Mara, who turns 40 next month, admitted shooting her husband James to death in Sauk Rapids Minnesota in late October of 2011 as he slept on a couch.
Soon after that, Wisconsin prosecutors said O’Mara checked into a motel in Ashland with her lover, Michael Pies – and he was later found dead in his room with a gunshot wound to the head.
Last fall, O’Mara was in the fourth day of her Minnesota trial when she pleaded guilty to killing her husband – and she was later sentenced to life in prison.
O’Mara faces a second life term if she’s convicted on her Wisconsin charge of first-degree intentional homicide. Bond is expected to be set in the Ashland case Monday, and she could be ordered to have a preliminary hearing.
