WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Israel in March, a senior administration official said on Tuesday.

The White House had previously said that Obama would visit Israel, the West Bank and Jordan in the spring but had not given a precise date.

The trip will be his first to Israel since taking office in 2009.
