WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -  Did you know there is a tournament to determine the world championship of ice fishing? There is, and it’s in central Wisconsin this weekend.

Members of the eleven World Ice Fishing Championship teams from around the world will converge on the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir Saturday and Sunday. Team USA is one of the newer teams, winning in 2010 after their second entry in the championships.

Teams from Estonia, Finland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine and Mongolia will be in the tournament.

The public is invited to meet and greet the team members Friday afternoon at the Central Wisconsin Sports Show, being held at the Patriot Center in Rothschild starting at 3:00 p.m.

Show hours are Friday, Feb. 15th from 3:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $6.00 for adults; youth under 12 are free.
