MARYVALE, AZ (WSAU) Mike Fiers will start the Milwaukee Brewers’ exhibition opener against Oakland on Saturday in Arizona. Fiers is one of at least four pitchers competing for the final three spots in the Brewers’ regular season rotation.

Manager Ron Roenicke says his top two starters, Yovani Gallardo and Marco Estrada, will throw against each other on Friday in the Brewers’ annual inter-squad game which comes right before the pre-season opener.

Rain postponed field work at Spring Training Wednesday, but Roenicke said about a dozen pitchers were still expected to throw at least some batting practice.
