BANCROFT, WI (WSAU) -  Not wearing a seatbelt brought a Shiocton man some unwanted attention.

40-year-old Darrel Buskirk was pulled over by a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper at 1:43 p.m. on New Year’s Day for not wearing his seatbelt. Then, the officer discovered Buskirk was operating under the influence of alcohol with a young child as a passenger. They also discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the car.

Buskirk was arrested and charged in Portage County. The traffic stop happened at Highway “D” and Harding Avenue, just off I-39 south of Bancroft.
