RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAU) - A long anticipated change at the Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport begins Friday. Frontier Airlines will be leaving the market. Delta Airlines will be returning.
Mesaba Airlines - flying for Delta - left the market in April, 2011 and was replaced by Frontier. SkyWest Airlines - flying as a connector for Delta - begins flights again Friday in Rhinelander.
Airport Director Joe Brauer says a 50 passenger jet will be making connections to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport each way twice daily. Frontier's last flight will be Thursday evening from Rhinelander.
Brauer says bookings have looked very strong for the new SkyWest Delta Connection to the Twin Cities.
