FLORENCE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - One man is hospitalized after a house explosion in northern Wisconsin.

Authorities say it happened in Florence County around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The 63-year-old victim told first responders that he was trying to light the fireplace when the blast happened. He suffered burns to his face, hands and the lower half of his body.

The blast blew out a wall in the home.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
