STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) - Several groups in Portage County worked to make the recent Toys for Tots campaign a success.
The Rotary Club of Greater Portage County and the Local Community Organization (LCO) hit a new record, collecting just over 3,300 toys. All donations were distributed locally to over 1,400 children.
The Rotary Club of Greater Portage County would like to thank everyone who donated to the campaign.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to children in need in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The Rotary Club of Greater Portage County has been the sole authorized and approved coordinator of Toys for Tots in Portage County since 2004.
