WESTON, Wis. (WSAU) - As influenza infections continue to rise in the area, Ministry Health Care in Weston is working to prevent and control the spread of the illness.
Saint Clare's Infection Preventionist Paul Thomas says they're ensuring that sick patients are not infecting other people. "People who do have the flu are being quarantined as soon as possible." People who don't need inpatient treatment for the flu are also being sent home with all the medical help they need to help ease the symptoms, in order to reduce the number of sick patients in the hospital.
There are also special kiosks at each of the entrances with cough masks and hand sanitizer so that incoming people aren't accidentally catching or spreading the flu or other illnesses. Thomas is asking all visitors make use of them.
You can see videos on preventing the spread of influenza online at Ministry's Facebook page.
