As part of their involvement in the annual British charity telethon Red Nose Day, One Direction visited poverty-stricken Accra, Ghana, over the weekend.
After their visit, 1D’s Niall Horan tweeted that it was the “best life experience ever.” He wrote, “I've seen the slums right in front of me! This is no joke! They really need your help! Poverty is real! Massive thanks to @rednoseday for taking us to Ghana! It was incredible! real eye opener! We take so much for granted over here!”
Horan’s band mate Harry Styles was also moved by what he saw, writing on Sunday, “Today was the most amazing day I've had so far.. In my life ever.”
As previously reported, the British boy band is recording a version of the Blondie hit "One Way or Another” for Red Nose Day that’s scheduled for release next month.
Red Nose Day, held on March 15, raises money for the British charity Comic Relief, which helps poor and disadvantaged people.
