Following the news that X Factor also-rans Emblem3 landed a record deal with Simon Cowell's label, the TV and music mogul has now offered a similar deal to fellow X Factor finalists Fifth Harmony .
Like Emblem3, Cowell has signed the all-girl group to his Syco Music and L.A. Reid's Epic Records. In a statement to People magazine, Cowell says, "I knew from the girls' first performance at the judges' homes that we'd done the right thing [in putting them together in a group]. The chemistry between the girls both on stage and off is fantastic, and they are incredibly talented."
The group's debut album will be executive produced by Julian Bunetta , who also worked with X Factor alums One Direction and Leona Lewis. Aside from gender, Fifth Harmony has a lot in common with One Direction: they both came in third in their respective seasons, and they are both made up of individual contestants who were assembled into a group. Cowell is clearly hoping lightning will strike twice.
