WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) - Get out those fancy duds and get ready for the biggest fundraising event of the year as Wine Cheese and All That Jazz returns.
The annual fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Wausau is moving into its thirteenth year, and Brian Stezenski-Williams from the Boys and Girls Club says they're ready for a great event. "We work our way out of the dead of winter, and it continues to be the biggest fundraising event for our efforts to help care for kids."
Stezenski-Williams says that it's not a black tie event, but that many people do come in fancy clothes. it's more of a business casual event, but a lot of ladies like an excuse to come out in gowns and dresses and generally look better than us guys."
The Wine and Cheese part of the event is being handled by dozens of local catering and wine vendors, and there's a number of microbrews on tap as well. Stezenski-Williams says some familiar faces will be handling the Jazz. "This year we've got the John Greiner quartet, and then we'll close out with String Cheese, a local cover band."
As of Thursday afternoon, there were still 80 tickets available, but Stezenski-Williams couldn't be sure how much longer they'd last. "Certainly through Friday but I can't guess any later than that."
