MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) -- The man named to lead the Merrill School District has taken office. Walter Leipart was selected in February, and took over as the Superintendent July 1st. He succeeds Interim Superintendent Don Stevens.
Leipart did the same duties in Phillips for the past five years. He has been busy meeting district employees and several parents this week.
The new administrator comes to Merrill with his wife Robin and many of their five children, who range in age from 23 to 11.
