MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) - Wisconsin hunters, trappers, and sturgeon spearers need to get their permits sooner this year.
Sporting permit deadlines changed for many activities, meaning most applications need to be submitted by August 1st. That deadline is the same for all outdoorsmen taking part in the fall turkey, bobcat, fisher, otter, and wolf seasons.
August 1st is also the deadline to apply for Canada geese licenses in the Horicon Zone.
Permits may be purchased from authorized agents, or through the Department of Natural Resources. You can call them toll-free at (877) 945-4236 or apply through the DNR’s online licensing center.
