UNDATED (WSAU) -- The summer holiday season means everyone is busy having fun.
When most people are away having fun, fewer people are available to donate blood. The American Red Cross is one of the agencies reporting a severe shortage of all blood types and platelets. They are especially encouraging people with O-negative, B-negative, and A-negative blood to donate.
Other agencies that collect and distribute blood are also reporting low supplies. You are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross, the Blood Center of Wisconsin, or contact your local hospital to find out where you can donate.
