Rihanna sued her former accountants last year, claiming their alleged negligence resulted in her being audited by the IRS, but now the money guys are reportedly striking back and asking a judge to dismiss the singer’s suit and slap her with a fine to boot.
According to TMZ.com , New York-based accounting firm Berdon LLP has been trying for the past nine months to get Rihanna to sit down and provide a court-ordered deposition. The firm says five separate dates have been scheduled and Ri Ri has blown off each one. TMZ says Berdon LLP is most upset about a June 19 date for a deposition that was to take place in London. The accountants claim Rihanna canceled, despite the fact that she performed before and after the 19th and displayed no signs of illness. The firm claims the canceled meeting cost it about $100,000.
The accounting firm claims it has “been pushed beyond the breaking point” by Rihanna and “cannot excuse her behavior.” TMZ says Berdon LLP has asked a judge to dismiss the singer's lawsuit and fine her at least 100 grand for wasting its time and resources.
Rihanna has not commented on the report.
