STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) - A Stevens Point citizen’s quick thinking led to two arrests for theft from cars Tuesday. The citizen spotted two young men who appeared to be stealing from a vehicle in the 600 block of Union Street very early in the morning. When the citizen yelled at them, they ran.
The suspects didn’t get far. Police apprehended 18-year-old Michael Stolz and 18-year-old Ian Rosebrook. Stolz and Rosebrook admitted removing items from several vehicles including an IPOD, several GPS units, and some sunglasses. All of the vehicles were left unlocked by their owners.
Stevens Point Police did not release the name of the observant citizen.
