MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) - A Schofield man on probation for methamphetamine possession was arrested after a traffic stop for having meth. Again.
44-year-old Joel Richard Conti was arrested after he was stopped on West Main Street in Merrill on Friday. Conti has a pair of previous convictions for production or possession of meth, so officers called in a K9 Unit from Tomahawk to sniff his car. The dog indicated the presence of drugs and officers then found multiple packages of meth in the vehicle.
Conti was booked into the Lincoln County jail and is facing two felony meth charges. He's being held on $10,000 cash bond. Conti's next court appearance is July 25th.
Conti has two previous convictions in Marathon County related to meth and meth production. He is currently on probation for a 2012 case involving meth.
