SAINT PAUL, Minn. (WSAU) - A piece of automotive history will be torn down in Saint Paul.
The process to demolish the Ford Assembly Plant in Saint Paul starts on Monday. The plant closed its doors in 2011 after 86 years of operation. The plant dates back to when Model Ts were still rolling off the assembly line.
City planning officials and aldermen will meet to determine the best course of action. The demolition process is expected to take through 2014. The site's 150 acres of property on the Mississippi River could be turned into a mixed use area.
